The EB2 visa is a category of the Employment-Based Immigration program in the United States that allows individuals with advanced degrees or exceptional ability in their field to obtain permanent residency in the US. The EB2 category is designed for individuals who possess advanced degrees, or their equivalent, in a specific field or who have exceptional ability in arts, sciences, or business.

• A degree, diploma, certificate, or similar award from a college, university, school, or other institution of learning related to the field of exceptional ability.
• Letters from current or former employers demonstrating at least 10 years of full-time experience in the field of exceptional ability.
• A license to practice the profession or certification for the profession or occupation.
• Evidence of command of a foreign language.
• Membership in professional associations.
• Recognition for achievements and contributions to the field of exceptional ability.

Unlike other categories of the Employment-Based Immigration program, the EB2 category requires an employer sponsorship. The employer must file a petition on behalf of the individual and demonstrate that the individual meets the eligibility criteria for the EB2 visa.
