In the fast, on-demand world we live in today, you're expected to have all of our businesses information and resources available at the drop of a dime - even if you're not in the office. RAT pc The faster you react, the more opportunities you can take advantage of and the better you look to customers/clients. The tech field has responded with many remote tools to choose from.

In an earlier post, I showed how you might use a remote tool in your work. Now, here's a look at several of the top remote tools:

1. VPN - Is a network connection that allows access to your network attached devices such as file servers and email servers. Set up is normally handled by IT professionals.

2. VNC (various vnc programs Real, Ultra, etc...) - is a program that is installed on the PC you want to connect into. The program allows you to see and manipulate the host desktop. Paid version offer more capability such as, file transfer, printers and size adjustment. Set up is easy inside the network or in conjunction with VPN but external set up is normally handled by IT professionals.

3. Citrix - Is usually a separate server that hosts and shares anything from desktops to applications. It publishes them to a web interface that allows user to access anywhere an internet connection is available. Set up and configuration is a timely process and requires regular maintenance.

4. Direct Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP)- It's a built in tool to windows that allows you to open a session of a desktop on a PC to allow access to files and applications on that machine. Like VNC, Set up is easy inside the network or in conjunction with VPN but external set up is normally handled by IT professionals.

5. LogMeIn - Is the program I am really impressed with. If you have ever used GoToMyPC it's almost exactly like that but cheaper! LogMeIn installs a program on a host PC that shares it to a secure web site for desktop manipulation. The Free version allows for all functionality indefinitely to as many PCs as you want. (GoToMyPc only allows 1 PC for 30 days by comparison) Set up is easy to follow prompts and mobile devise compatible.
